This document may be appended to the Whole School Guidance plan or may be a ‘standalone’ resource for Guidance Counsellors and other members of staff. 'Guidance and Wellbeing'

15th February 2022

In this webinar, Dr. Carol Guildea addressed ‘Wellbeing’ in post primary schools and identified a number of ways in which whole school guidance planning and practice connects to, and compliments wellbeing policies.

'Whole School Guidance: Focus on Transitions, Pathways and Opportunities'

8th February 2022

Supporting students with regard transitions is a key component in all aspects of Guidance. This webinar hosted by Dr. Carol Guildea provided discussions and reflections on:

Template for Guidance Plan: Transitions, Pathways and Opportunities

This resource has been developed in order to provide an example of how the content from the webinar Whole School Guidance: Focus on Transitions, Pathways and Opportunities’  can be incorporated into a post-primary Guidance plan. 
 

This template aims to provide a stimulus for thought and is not prescriptive in terms of the content of a guidance plan. It may be adapted to meet the needs of the school and appended into a preexisting Guidance plan.

 

'Example of Whole School Guidance in Action: Curricular / non-Curricular Languages'

1st February 2022

In this webinar, one example of Whole School Guidance was provided as NCGE and Post Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI) focused on ‘languages’ in the context of the continuum of support and in relation to areas of learning and competencies.

The NCGE resource Template for Guidance Plan: Curricular & non-Curricular Languages was referenced during this session. Sandrine Pac-Kenny, Chang Zhang and Agnieszka Grochola from PPLI provided a presentation on: 

  • Post-Primary Languages Ireland and the awareness campaign 'Languages Connect'
