Sharing Practice with Europe:
Study Visits for Guidance Practitioners

What is the Academia Exchange?

Academia is the title of the network of guidance organisations in Europe who organise transnational placement programmes for guidance practitioners in participating countries.

‘It was an amazing experience on so many different levels. I have made contact with Guidance Counsellors in so many countries throughout Europe. This opportunity has opened so many doors and I would recommend it to everyone.’

‘Opportunity to discuss my own practice with other professionals and when discussing what I actually do, this resulted in reflection on how I could improve my work

‘First question I would like to ask is – Can I do it again?’

Hosting
NCGE is coordinating a programme for European practitioners to learn about and live the Irish experience of guidance. This programme is taking place in Limerick City and is titled "The role of adult guidance in the context of community regeneration". Hosting offers a chance for Irish practitioners to work with their European colleagues, learning about the systems in their countries and sharing information and ideas. The programme will take place between Monday 12th March to Friday 16th March 2012.
