NCGE on the International Stage
The National Centre contributes to national and international conferences and study visits by making presentations on education and guidance in Ireland.
It has collaborated with FÁS and the IGC in drafting country papers on Ireland for the International Symposia on Career Development and Public Policy in Ottawa
in 1999 and Vancouver in 2001. The Centre prepared background documentation for the Department of Education and Science’s presentation at the Symposium in Toronto in 2003.
NCGE delivered a workshop on its Continuing Professional Development programme at the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG) conference in Lisbon in 2005.
The Centre, on behalf of the European Commission’s Lifelong Guidance Expert
Group, also carried out a study of indicators and benchmarks in Guidance in
Ireland in 2005 and subsequently was part of an international panel formed to
deliberate on the findings of this Europewide review.
