Speeches on the day

‘From our perspective in the Inspectorate, the one word that comes to mind when we think of Eileen is quality … high quality.’

Doreen McMorris

Eileen didn't forget people, no matter what level they were at or where they were coming from. She was very inclusive ... We look forward to a continued relationship with you in the future.

Eilis Coakley

I learned very fast that you don't do anything on your own and really, individuals achieve very little on their own ... What I'm taking from NCGE to DIT is a real understanding of the complexity of work that must be done on a collaborative basis.

You must take the time to allow people to come with you and that you must always, always provide the very best you can. You must be able to speak the language of the people you are trying to influence.

If I achieved something in NCGE, it was because I was loving it. I was loving because of the people I was working with - which is all of you.'
